Staples.co.uk is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its launch with the unveiling of a new TV advertisement and exciting prize draw.
The campaign, planned by Guerillascope and produced by Motiv, debuted during ITV1’s Dancing on Ice last month, with more spots airing nationwide across a host of mainstream channels during February and March.
Opening with scenes familiar to anyone who has ever experienced the travails of a dial-up modem, the 30-second ad whisks us back to the early days of Staples.co.uk in the 1990s – complete with dodgy haircuts and a mouse/brick hybrid.
Nostalgia soon gives way to the modern day, reflecting how far the brand – and everything else – has come. Staples.co.uk’s longstanding digital focus preluded the wider shift away from bricks and mortar sales seen over recent years, with 87% of UK households now claiming to shop online.
To celebrate its landmark, Staples.co.uk is also running a competition that will see one lucky participant win a Next-Generation Nissan Juke. It’s free to enter, with up to nine additional entries unlockable by placing orders on any number of products from leading brands such as Sharpie, HP and Leitz. The draw closes on March 31st 2022.
