Launched in 20009, the Food network is an American television channel jointly owned by Scripps Network Interactive and the Tribune Company. Its programming is split into two compartments, with the daytime Food Network Kitchen and Primetime Food Network Night time. The former is generally dedicated to instructional cookery shows, whilst the latter focuses on food entertainment programming, such as competitions, travel and reality shows.
