Katy Sharpe Inducted into Media Week 30 Under 30

07 January 2019

We’re thrilled to announce that Guerillascope’s very own Katy Sharpe has been inducted into the Media Week 30 Under 30 for 2018!

The award – which showcases the media industry’s next generation of stars – is testament to the giant leaps Katy has made since taking her first tentative steps with Guerillascope seven years ago.

Joining us as a fresh, wide-eyed graduate from Liverpool Hope university in 2011, it wasn’t long before her unerring professionalism and calmness under pressure caught the eye. Initially taking on the role of media assistant, it became clear that Katy’s strategic skill and thirst for self-improvement were going to take her far.

We were not to be disappointed. Wowing both colleagues and clients during her time as a media planner and buyer, Katy was promoted to brand director in 2016. Just one year later, she was deservedly asked to become our new managing director.

Quickly growing into the role, Katy’s success in developing a skilled and motivated team led to our best ever year in 2017, with established brands such as Amigo Loans, Teletext Holidays and Watchfinder thriving under her stewardship. With ambitious plans afoot for the year ahead, we look forward to seeing where her journey takes us next.

David Yorath, Guerillascope’s CEO and founder, said of the achievement: “We’re extremely proud of Katy, who has truly thrived in her role as managing director over the past year. I’m delighted that her commitment, talent and leadership have been recognised with the Media Week 30 Under 30 win – it’s fully deserved, and just goes to show how far hard work can take you. Congratulations to all of this year’s recipients, the future of our wonderful industry is in good hands.”

Talking to Campaign Magazine, Zoe Clapp, chief marketing officer of UKTV and one of this year’s judges, said: “The applications were strikingly candid and thoughtful [with the applicants] showing integrity to their craft and their teams, and an appetite to keep advancing the media industry.

“Their commercial accomplishments, skill and EQ should give us enormous hope for the future.”
