As part of the UKTV Network of channels, Alibi’s inception rose from UKTV Drama
in 2008 – which had previously been UK Arena. The rebranding emphasised a
focus on crime-drama programming, with the dramas unrelated to crime being
transferred onto sister channel GOLD. The programming that constitutes the core
output on Alibi consists of a mixture of archived BBC dramas and American drama series. These include
the likes of Silent Witness, Spooks, Taggart and Perception.
