If the advertiser wins the bid, when the user types this particular phrase into
the search engine, their advert will appear in the advertiser sections of the
results pages. The higher the bid, the nearer the top the advert will appear. The search engine then receives a payment per click at the bid price from the advertiser.
2) Website content PPC advertising This usually works on the same bidding system but this time on keyword/s appearing in the content of websites.
Where a website publisher has signed up for PPC advertising, when an
advertiser wins a bid, their advert will appear. The advertiser benefits from increased profile and sales and the publisher is paid every time a visitor clicks one of these links.
